About
The idea for Sunrise Coast Coffee came to me when I took a fall at work, and broke my kneecap. I was trapped at home with my leg immobilized for over 4 months! There wasn't much for me to do besides watch tv, surf the internet, and drink coffee.
I was buying store-bought coffee, and realized that once I added creamer to it, all I could taste was creamer, very little coffee flavor at all. So I had the wife pick me up a famous coffee shop brand at the store in a French Roast, so maybe I could taste some coffee with the little bit of cream that I add. No change. After day 2, all the flavor was gone. Dissappointing.
So I started doing some internet research, and learned that most coffee from the grocery store was probably 4-6 months old, or more, by the time it is roasted, packaged, then sent to multiple distribution warehouses by the time it makes it in to the grocery store.
I've always wanted to start my own business, and I support other small businesses when I can. I had the idea to test freshly roasted, small-batch coffees from family owned roasteries, and was amazed by the difference freshness makes in coffee, and Sunrise Coast Coffee was born! I had samples sent to me from all over, and found 2 roasters that make exceedingly good coffee. I hope you enjoy them! If you're a fan of flavored coffees, I'm currently working on getting some flavored coffees from another roaster in Florida. His bourbon-pecan coffee is absolutely amazing, and we're coming up with a few other ideas. Look for those soon!
When you buy a bag of coffee from us, you're actually supporting 3 small businesses, and the Marine Science Center in Ponce Inlet, FL which helps rehabilitate injured wildlife.
I hope you enjoy the selection I've put together.
Sincerely,
Garry
